| The Senior Area Engineer role more generally will require the close working with other Area staff to enhance the operation and development of our existing business and to play a pro-active part in winning new business. The day to day role of the Engineer will be dependent on the varying needs of the Area, but will broadly include some or all of the following:
• Project management of approved installation projects
• Design, specification and estimating of potential new schemes
• Thermal Calculations
• Produce Technical Reports
• Trouble-shooting on Plant design and Energy useage on new Installations on Energy Plants
• Technical engineering support to Contracts Managers, problem solving plant operation & performance enhancement, and developing scheme designs for existing business
• Produce design schemes and developing proposals associated with new business sales
Responsibilities
• Operate within Company and Engineering standard guidelines and procedures ensuring that all Safety, Health and Environmental ( SHE) requirements are met
• Design, Specification, Estimating and Tendering of new projects
• All project management activities associated with the implementation of construction and improvement works including cost control ,safety management , subcontractor and site supervision and testing, commissioning and handover.
• Within the scope of business handled by the Area, and/or in support of other Area teams, undertake some or all of the following:
• Assistance to Contracts Managers, including trouble shooting on plant/systems, supporting productivity initiatives, increasing technical awareness of best practice and improving plant performance.
• Sales support activities, in conjunction with, and to meet the requirements of, designated Sales managers, Business Development Managers and Contracts Managers covering site and plant surveys, energy analysis and modelling, production of conceptual solutions for Utility and Energy supply
Person Specification
• Must be qualified to HNC/HND and preferably to degree level in a relevant engineering discipline with preference for Mechanical / Chemical / Energy Engineering Qualifications.
• Strong HVAC experience including Steam Boiler Plant, Refrigeration/ Air Conditioning H&V Plant
• Preferably either Chartered Engineer status or capable of achieving this.
• Must have proven project management capability on projects from scratch to fulfilment £1m construction projects
